Managing Director

Tom Murphy

Tom founded Aptus Personnel (Aus) in March 2010. The foundations of Aptus are a true reflection of Tom’s personality
– a friendly, open person with a genuine interest in the quality of service to people’s careers and the employers they choose.

Tom’s philosophy is “if we don’t provide the best environment, mature fun culture with true flexibility in working conditions, we simply don’t deserve to attract nor retain the leaders of our industry. Ultimately then who are we to advise our clients and people on career choices?”

To this day Tom continues to enjoy working with several key clients, mentor our consultants and is actively working on Life

Ian Willett

Ian comes from a strong sales and recruitment background having worked as Team Manager, Sales Executive and has been a
Recruitment Consultant for over ten years now.

After 7 years within sales Ian decided to move into recruitment and in 2010 he started working as a 360 consultant in the Rail Infrastructure industry. After a successful career in the UK Ian decided on the move across to Australia and is now servicing our clients national, predominantly within the Civil & Infrastructure space (consultancy to construction). Ian has built strong relationships as a result of providing the right fit for clients and candidates ensuring long term sustainable solutions.

Ian’s Areas of specialisation are Engineering, Design, Project Management & Surveying for Land Development & The Built Environment.

Siobhan Barrett

Siobhan Barrett

Siobhan has been with Aptus since late 2014 and is a passionate advocate for both her clients and candidates. With a decade in customer service before recruitment, she always strives to put people first, providing the highest level of value possible.

Her areas of focus cover Structural Consulting across buildings and infrastructure, incorporating Engineering, Drafting, Modelling, BIM and all things digital.

Siobhan is highly dedicated and passionate about her career and the industry as a whole. She believes having a strong understanding of the built environment, the latest projects and market changes is key to a successful career. She engages people with the utmost respect and integrity and holds developing long-lasting relationships to the highest degree.

Katy Prophet

Katy is originally from the UK and has been working in recruitment across Australia and New Zealand for the last few years.

Katy is a talent manager who is passionate about understanding the needs of every individual in a way that maintains an exceptional level of trust, consequently placing candidates in a role they will love and appreciate.

Katy will be helping to recruit across the built environment, covering: structural, civil and building services.

Laura Oswald

Laura first joined Aptus as an Accounts Officer and has been an invaluable member of the team ever since. With a strong background from multiple Finance and Administrative roles in the last 9 years in the UK and Australia under her belt, Laura brings with her experience in the Engineering, Landscaping, SaaS and Production firms.

Laura’s strong passion for analysing just about anything, saving money where possible and her thorough understanding of finance and administration fuels Aptus’ operational services.

As of March 2022, Laura has been promoted to Office Manager, while overseeing all administrative and financial duties behind the scenes at Aptus HQ.
